Chapter 7 : Under Rose-Tainted Skies
Under Rose-Tainted Skies is a novel about a girl who suffers from Agoraphobia. Agoraphobia is a phobia that made a person afraid to go out because they afraid they could not escape in certain condition. Someone who suffers from Agoraphobia think their house is the safest place in earth.
At seventeen, Norah has accepted that the four walls of her house delineate her life. She knows
that fearing everything from inland tsunamis to odd numbers is
irrational, but her mind insists the world outside is too big, too
dangerous. So she stays safe inside, watching others’ lives through her
windows and social media feed.
But when Luke arrives on her
doorstep, he doesn’t see a girl defined by medical terms and mental
health. Instead, he sees a girl who is funny, smart, and brave. And
Norah likes what he sees.
Their friendship turns
deeper, but Norah knows Luke deserves a normal girl. One who can walk
beneath the open sky. One who is unafraid of kissing. One who isn’t so
screwed up. Can she let him go for his own good—or can Norah learn to
see herself through Luke’s eyes?
This book is pretty, it describes how someone who suffers Agoraphobia live their lifes. I love how simple the romance is, even though it is easily predicted but I enjoy it.
A quote from this book that I would like to cite is :
"Worry is such a drama queen. It takes the smallest thing, makes it so big and bulky that you can’t see the obvious any more."
(page 59)
A thing that I do not really like is the ending, I kind of feel it is a bit too rush for the ending and make it nonsense. Overall I give this book 3.7/5 ✩
